Dyrrahsped reduces fleet downtime and fuel costs using Frotcom
Using Frotcom's features, the Albanian company reduced idling times and improved control of its fleet, making it more profitable.
Dyrrahsped was founded in 1993 in Durres, Albania, with Mr. Shpetim Prodani as its first Chairman and Managing Director. The company’s activity is based on forwarding, naval and customs agencies, and transportation in and out of the country.
With 25 years of experience, Dyrrahsped is one of the most qualified companies in Albania in its activity, having a transport capacity of 250 tons, a storage area of 28,600 m2, and 8,600m2 of warehouse space.
In recent years the company has processed large volumes of goods in the port of Durres and distributed them throughout Albania in cooperation with private entities, organizations, public companies (state stocks), and NGOs such as Red Cross and UNMCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). Moreover, Dyrrahsped has been a member of UFO (Universal Freight Organization in London center) since 2005 and has partners in more than 100 countries.
Dyrrahsped was looking for a fleet management solution that would allow them to closely monitor specific activities in their fleet:
- The engine running regime;
- Cost management;
- Manpower management.
Due to the high quality of service and support, the company decided that Frotcom was the right solution to achieve these goals and thus improve its fleet management. Today, Dyrrahsped has 26 vehicles equipped with Frotcom: 24 trucks and 2 vans.
After the training process and support from the Frotcom team, the company started to make the most of Frotcom's features and get results.
With Frotcom's Driving Behavior Analysis and Fuel management, Dyrrahsped can now monitor its drivers' driving styles and fuel consumption within its fleet. As a result, driving behavior improved, and the company reduced operating costs and fuel consumption.
The company has also simplified several tasks previously performed manually using Frotcom's Fleet alarms and Remote tachograph download, such as controlling AdBlue and fuel levels, expired drivers’ licenses, overspeed, and tachograph data downloading. Moreover, by monitoring its fleet vehicles with Frotcom, the company reports a reduction of 50% in idling times, representing significant savings in fuel consumption and overall fleet costs.
Mentor Markja, Dyrrahsped’s Operational Manager, said that "With Frotcom, we were able to identify the vehicles with the engine running during unloads, which were the cause of high costs for the company. As a result, in December 2021, we saved 221 minutes in downtime, and in January 2022, 172 minutes, since drivers now turn off the ignition when unloading and during heavy traffic. Overall, we reduced idling times by 50%."
Finally, it is fair to state that Dyrrahsped met its fleet management goals thanks to Frotcom's features and the service and support provided.
